It is not surprising that the Internet contains many contrary-to-fact theories. Religions like Mormonism draw their own fair share, perhaps because people view them as bizarre. While some beliefs of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints may seem strange to an outsider, there is one set of theories out there that is not part of Mormon belief and seem to be taken out of the plot of the 1980s mini-series V.
While Ed Decker, the producer of The God Makers, stretches the facts of the faith and has claimed as part or current practice Mormon beliefs that died with Brigham Young, but the Mormon-Reptilian conspiracy theory put forth by David Icke and his followers portrays a far darker and sinister picture.
David Icke has been interviewed on Penn and Teller's Showtime series dedicated to debunking frauds and charlatans. David Icke appears at UFO conventions, and he has authored many books putting forth his grand conspiracy theories about aliens operating an Illumaniti-like organization that runs the world. He appears as a guest on Art Bell's radio program, Coast to Coast AM.
The Reptilian conspiracy theory states that there are occult blood lines that control a secret society that runs the world. The Reptilians are only one part of this grand conspiracy theory, for further information on the what he purports to believe, check out his own website. The Mormons, according to some of his adherents, are in league with the Jehovah's Witnesses. The theory goes on to state that the Mormon leadership is part of the Reptilian bloodlines.
According to David Icke's Web page, the early Mormon leadership had a distinguished reptilian bloodline. Joseph Smith and Brigham Young belonged to the Merovingian bloodline. Readers of The Da Vinci code know that this bloodline supposedly passed down the genetic code of Jesus Christ.
While any Mormon who has been to the temple will be quick to assure an outsider that armed guards from a lizard-like race are not a standard part of temple security, people are fascinating by conspiracy theories, even if the theory itself is not believable. People looking for ceremonies where Mormons sacrifice babies will be disappointed to find out that such ceremonies do not happen, even in the most sacred rooms of the Mormon temples.
